KidsHeart Valentine's Day Fun with Jeff Nathan

The youngsters who came into Kaleidoscope on Valentine's Day for our KidsHeart author event were treated to an entertaining show featuring silly poems, songs, and volunteer participation skits. Jeff Nathan had the kids laughing and shouting, "pick me!" as he requested volunteers from the audience. His humerous poems and songs kept kids both interested and entertained. My own children stayed through the entire performance and are thoroughly enjoying his books. He left a few signed copies at the store for sale. I highly recommend Jeff for assemblies of all sizes. Although, his site says the performances are best suited for elementary school aged children, the toddler present did plenty of dancing and looked to enjoy the event just as much as the school age children. Thank you Jeff and to all who came and enjoyed the performance.

Great Time Had By All at the First Ever Kaleidoscope After Hours Concert

It always feels great when an event goes just the way that you envision it! That explains the feeling that I have regarding the first ever Kaleidoscope after hours concert. Old and new friends were present for an enjoyable and entertaining evening of Folk Music. I was impressed by the age range of our audience...the youngest attendee was 3 years old and the oldest attendee was well...much older. Everyone appeared to have enjoyed themselves and I will attach a photo of the event once I get back to my laptop.

I have to give a sincere thank you to Rob Mattson who suggested and orchastrated the event. I also have to thank Sam Bayer and his percussionist Dave for taking a chance on Kaleidoscope and delivering an intriguing performance. Between them they converted my husband into a folk music fan. Catchy, poignant and whimsical performances had the audience laughing, singing along, and applauding these two outstanding performers.

One of the comments that I appreciated was that, "The volume level of this type of concert allows for both the appreciation of the music and for conversation between friends". So the next time that you are interested in an entertaining evening with friends but you still want to be able to hear your friends speak, come to a Kaleidoscope After Hours Concert Event.

I look forward to doing this again and will send out a notice of my next Kaleidoscope After Hours Concert. I would love to hear any feedback from the attendees. Please feel free to post!

Thank you to Everyone Who Participated in the Friends of the Upton Town Library Fundraiser

We had so much fun on December 17th during the fundraising event for the Friends of the Upton Town Library, where Lisa Stratton the children's librarian conducted story time featuring the Jan Brett books Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends. We had several children attend the story time, then enjoy the wonderful gingerbread cookies donated for the event by the Frescos. Meanwhile the Mom's were able to enjoy coffee including egg nog coffee provided by Red Barn Coffee Roasters.

We contributed 10% of our day's sales to the Friends of the Upton Town Library in order to support the Library and it's programs. We hope that everyone else enjoyed the event as much as we did. We thank all of our customers for participating and especially thank Frescos and Red Barn Coffee Roasters for their contributions.

Lastly, this has been my first experience working with Lisa Stratton, who is an absolute jewel. The town is very fortunate to have such a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable children's librarian. I sincerely appreciate her efforts to make this event successful and I personally appreciate her knowledge and support in helping me reach out to my community in new ways.

Thank you again,
